the current prices for an OTA from Scope City
(take 10% club discount???)
Coronado SolarMax 40 <0.5 A $2600
Coronado SolarMax 60 <0.7 A $3690
Coranado PST $600
I have an appropriate small GEM in my garage.
Like Robert - I have observed through many
PSTs and I am not impressed. For the purpose
of a specialized (mainly public program) club
scope the 40mm, 60mm or 90 would be really
grand IMO. It might make sense to do this -
and see about phasing out the Daystar. The
months of 'evening wasting time' are perfect
for member viewing before the general meeting.
I am completely opionated that the Sun is an
astronomical object - and I really liked the loan
of the DayStar as a dayscope when I first joined.
I am entirely sure fellow club members- who don't
care to drag large Dobs to remote places - have
some similar interests. Even some who DO
enjoy lugging large Dobs to remote places some-
time like special views of Sol [ Mark is not one
I suppose (: -]
