   The optics in that particular C-11 were hand-picked for a friend of 
the company.  It's not merely a production run scope.

   Paul Barton hauled around two big deep-cycle batteries to run that 
scope, and needed them.  The main reason for the large current draw is 
that there is no ramping up the pulse rate, so it takes a few amps to 
prevent it from missing steps.
