SJAA Board:
I think it is good that the process be realized as 'political'
because it is really a public resources process. The
elected leaders of the city need to be directly involved
and accountable to the citizens of that city (SJ). The
more succinct direct pressure there is, from more
sources, and with good backing arguments - the more
likely the SJAA will be able to keep providing this
Community Enriching Service (i.e. it's charter!)
JVN might (I hope) be able to bring in some
San Jose city teachers (?) into the debate to
keep the SJAA at a SJ facility - where it can better
serve SJ student citizens (who have parents who
vote!).
PRN had a really odd way of handling 'old pools
that need maintenance'. Essentially it was 'close
and bulldoze' after hiring a 'consultant'. The citizens
of 3 SJ neighborhoods did their 'political' thing
correctly - at least one of these small grand neighborhood
pools reopened and is serving a neighborhood this
summer!!
So - Rob is correct - we need to be short in our arguments,
direct and specific in our targeting, and aware of who in
SJ government actually makes the final decisions.
-best of luck to us- and GOOG OBSERVING!
