bummer - I have been going to Houge since I joined the club.  It  still
seems a pretty good place at a reasonable price.
 
 
It might be useful for the club's future - if we loose the venue- to have 
many feelers out there on alternatives.  Similar to how alternatives  are
now valuable for the Auction/Swap.  I don't know how you could  find
a better arrangement (for us) than the nominal cost meeting room
near an observing field!
 
There could be some places at local High Schools - that are
interested in astronomy - but these would not be free venues.
It might also be interesting because of better presentation
facilities - and a chance to engage younger science students
on their own turf.
 
(I guess the work on Country Park facilities showed that was
a No-Go.  bummer too  but thanks for the legwork)
