Hi all,
???? In our attempt to revamp the loaner program the subject of refractors has come up.? Mike Koop was kind enough to send me an email and remind me of a telescope in a trombone case.? It was one of the items which Mike brought to Houge that night and we divided up for storage.? I think maybe it was supposed to be added to the loaner program but wasn't when Mike left the group.? The telescope in the trombone case has been in storage at my house since that night, along with the Zeiders big binoculars and the?slide projector.? I think Gary has?these items on his list.
? As I recall, the telescope is an Orion 4.7" achromat with a fast focal length on a German equatorial mount.? It is not GOTO, but it does have drives on both axes.?It may already have a loaner number.? If not,?do we want to give this telescope a number and add it to our loaner list?? It might fulfill out need for a small-medium refractor, and also free up more storage space.
? As I mentioned, I have the big Zeiders binoculars also, but the tripod mount needs to be modified before it is usable.? If anyone wants to take on this project please let me know.
