Huh..... interesting. If there is a friend of Albert who can deal with the 13-inch "doorstop",
why didn't he chime in before, after Raycraft said they couldn't refigure the mirror?
I have to admit to being confused by all this. I really didn't care about it before, other than
just to know if it was deemed usable or not. I too thought a blank that size would be worth quite
a bit. I concluded that due to problems with the mirror that it was not worth what a good blank
would command. But, it may certainly be worth quite a bit more than $25. If it has been ground
flat, is already at f/4.5 and just needs someone to refigure it, why not see if the prospective
buyer (or someone at Chabot) would do that, and look at selling it at the next auction? If it
*is* usable, and having a buyer would seem to indicate that, why "give it away"?
Who wants to buy it, and like Gary asked, was it the club's offer or his?
