[SJAAboard] My future list of emails

I believe the last week has shown that email is not an effective way of
conducting club business. Trying to express nuanced ideas in a concise form for
email was the fodder of much of last week's disruption.

>From now on, I will generally ignore any private emails and will rarely, if
ever, participate in mail list discussions. We have demonstrated that the mail
list is a place for announcements and little more. I no longer feel obligated
to respond to statements that I disagree with, nor should my failure to response
be construed as agreement.

What I will do more of is talking to members by phone. After I return my phone
number will be again on the officer's page. Many of you will get calls from me
more often. Please feel free to call me. I do have caller ID and have no
interest in conversing with several subscribers to this list.

We need to put a stake in the heart of this private meetings bunk. No state law
prohibits me from calling Robert. If anyone feels this impinges on their
rights, I will happy to reimburse their dues.
