Some important Deadlines

	Pre-Proposal Conference (Required): July 21, 2008 10:00 am
	Questions - July 25, 2008
	RFP Response - August 22, 2008
	Oral Presentations September 5, 2008
Final Evaluation of Proposals complete -September 9, 2008
City Issues Final Decision - September 12, 2008

We are going to have to hit the ground running when I return. They are giving
us one month to respond to the RFP. By the time I return only about 2 weeks
will remain.

Notice that our lease in Building one is being honored until Fall 2009. We
either meet the August 22 deadline or find a new home next year.

These are my impressions from my first read ( not in any order)

The use is "primarily for San Jose Residents". The direct mail program
I am proposing should help with this.

Use will be free. City assumes all costs of major repairs.

It looks like the Child care center snapped up building 1. We need to
emphasize that our use will be after normal business hours.

	Qualifications for bidding
		501(c)(3) check
		Income tax returns

It is unclear what they will think of our two fund raisers. We will
have to ask.

Since our use is after hours it will not conflict with any daytime use.
That is something we will want to emphasize.

We have to submit a monthly evaluation. For the most part this does not
apply.

	24. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CONCESSIONS Some of this stuff sounds scary. I
think we handle this by stating that have neither supervisory or disciplinary
authority over minors since they would always be present at our functions with
their parents.

I would like to work up a first draft by Saturday night. Due to the
tight deadline we are not going to be able to do this as a committee of the
whole. I can not do it on my own due to my being out of town.
