Dividing the work load?

What Mark may have seen is the need to not have a President
who remains in office more than 5 years (to just pick a #).
There are clubs who have the same president (default) for
>20 years - and this often causes problems for the club. A
local club for instance impresses visitors as "not very
friendly" because there is strong grouping around an
old guard. (the quote actually was expressed to me at our
last meeting - not about our club!!).

I am not sure what Rob is talking about divided responsibility?
Mike and Rob both have done Loaners, President and Chair of
the Board. Additionally - new visitor program - AKA Beginners
Class. I think the Board has done an extremely poor job in
involving new volunteers. One Board member recently character-
ized this as "my way or the highway".

I would strongly endorse a 5 year term limit. I also think it
would be great to split the COB function off from the President
(as the Bylaws suggest).

$0.02 for today
