Something has come up that is going to consume a lot of my time.  I would
prefer if someone else took responsibility for sending the letters out.  

I don't see there is a requirement that the president sign the letters as
long as it is clear that the letter is from the organization.

Folks on TAC felt handwritten letters were more likely to be read.
