[SJAAboard] Do we need to tape the meetings?

Having acted as secretary in the past I know that keeping a record of what
happens is like trying to capture Niagara Falls with a coffee cup.  You will
get some of the stuff but a lot will spill past you.  Given the number of
times this year we have had disagreements on what was voted on, some
supplemental form of notes seems useful.

I did purchase a recorder today.  My goal is not to try to capture the full
conversation in the meetings, but to make sure every vote is captured.  I
would like to leave it on during the entire meeting to at least record what
Craig and I have said.  That way we can make sure everything we vote on is
accurately recorded.  

I do not anticipate that we will retain the recordings, but it will be
useful in at least my review of the written notes.
