The scope does have a Y2K problem.  Thanks for the heads up on a workaround.

At least in the DEC direction the only problem was old grease.  I freed the
gears manually and now I can drive the scope in DEC using the controls.  I
will clean and relube both the RA and DEC.

I might see about putting some wheels on the heavy wooden OTA box. 

It looks like I need to star test this scope.  I hope the weather will
cooperate.
