Dear SJAA Board,
If you want a solar scope for the club, this is one fine H-Alpha scope.
I've had the pleasure of looking through it and performs very well.
However, I would guess, even in this case, the price will be quite high.

Subject: [TAC] Solar scopes for sale
Hello astro friends,
Well, I'm sad to say but I must let my solar gear go to pay for something else. I'm keeping my plettsone, I may end up selling my
trailer, don't know.
I'm going to clean up all the gear and prepare it for sale next week and then post an ad on astromart. If anyone here is
interested in the whole set up which includes
- a TV telepod
- a Oberwerk surveying tripod (heavy duty) with custom machined Hercules head on it which provides a very stable mount for the
dual scope setup I use.
- Denkmeyer II binoviewer, 1.25 and 2.0 OCS's, misc adapters
- Orion Short 80 refractor and 80mm glass white light solar filter
- Takahashi Sky90 refractor
- A TV Ring and camera adapter which allow me to mount the Takahashi on the Telepod or the Oberwerk w/Hercules head, and a
piggyback camera adapter that I use to put the Orion on top of the Takahashi Sky90
- Takahashi 1.6x field flattener and misc adapters
- Telelvue 1.25" diagonal
- Coronado 90mm Solarmax h-alpha filter and adapter ring for the Sky90
- Coronado hi-res module which fits into the focusing tube to doublestack the h-alpha filters for astounding h-res h-alpha views
- Coronado straight thru 30mm blocker
- TV Brass 2" to 1.25 adapter
note: eyepieces are not included.
This set up has given me and many of you some amazing views of the sun. It is with great regret that I must part with it. It is
a difficult decision. The scopes and all the other parts are in perfect working order.
If anyone on this list is interested please contact me off list. I'll be putting it up on Astromart toward the end of next week
if someone local doesn't adopt it. The cost of all items new is near 12K but worth every penny. If interested, please make me a
reasonable offer and we'll work something out.
Looking forward to getting out under a nice dark evening sky sometime soon.
Happy New Year!
