[SJAAboard] our solar scope's H-alpha filter

Hi all,

As a one-time borrower of the solar scope several years ago, I would hate to
see it go; I had a wonderful experience with it and even did some
photography with it.

I admit it was a little tricky to tune and properly focus, but the result
was well worth the effort.

The repair cost amortized over so many years of use seems very reasonable to
me.

Perhaps it would make sense to keep it and get a PST as well. The PST would
be better suited to beginners, the Daystar to more advanced users who should
get some training in its use due to it's rather delicate nature.

Would I borrow it again? I was hoping to do so once it was put back into the
system.

Just my $.02 worth. Hope you decide to keep it.

Hi Gary,

If we had our Daystar H Alpha  filter repaired, how much do you 
think we could get for it if we sold it?  

There should  label on the side of the filter that tells it's bandwidth.  

I was thinking we could sell our Daystar and buy a PST.  The advantage
of the PST is it is easy to use, nice and compact, and it can be used even
when is it cold outside.
