Hi Akkana,

The reason announce was converted to a digest was a limit of 400 e-mails 
per day.  If more than one message went out during a day, we'd exceed 
the limit.  I suggested, as a solution, just sending out one digest 
e-mail a day.  I don't agree with sending out multiple e-mails about an 
event like the eclipse.  My opinion is that the digest should go out 
only once, and in it people should just be referred to the web-page for 
more info.  Sending out multiple digests during a day defeats the 
purpose of having a digest.

Another option for the club is to dump the digest, dump the service we 
use for the announce list, and open a Yahoo Group for announce instead.
