[SJAAboard] Extra time reserved for the auction

I don't know how many times I need to explain this.
By holding a money making event on city property we change the rules by
which we are administered. Holding an event where money changes hands
changes us from being a class I group to a Class II. A company holding an
event would be charged at an even higher rate Class III.
To fully understand the charges you have to first put yourself in the model
that the city should be the ones opening the room for us. They are charging
us for the entire time we are using the facility. Ignoring this model is
the best way to lose the unprecedented access we currently enjoy.
The administrator is just doing what her handbook says to do. She showed me
her procedures. She is just executing a script that someone else wrote.
If you have complaints on the fee structure you should take it up with the
senior management of the recreation department and/or the political
leadership of the city. I would strongly advise against that since the city
has granted us unprecedented access which could be easily revoked.
If these set of rules are not acceptable then we need to hold the next
auction somewhere other than a City of San Jose location. I believe we can
not hold the auction under these rules.
