[SJAAboard] SJAA web page

I think we should give some thought to re-designing our web page.
It could be organized a little better, and there are other issues.

For one thing, the link to our school star party program--which is
a big part of what the SJAA does--is buried under the "hints for
beginners" section. When you click on it, you don't go to SJAA's
school star party page, you go to some guy's personal web page.
There you see things about that person (of course) plus stuff about
school star parties. This gives the strong impression that the
SJAA doesn't do school star parties, but this other guy does, and
we just have a link to it.

Of course *we* all know that's Jim, but to outsiders I think this
must seem very unprofessional or questionable. There could even
be liability issues, or the *appearance* of liability issues, (i.e.
is this a SJAA program or is it this man's personal thing?)

Note: I'm not saying anything about Jim personally, nor how he runs
the school star party program. This is just about how our web page
works and how it appears to visitors.

We have a page for Astronomy day 99 still there--that's 1999 mind
you. And on that page is a link to Mike Koop's web site regarding
loaner scope 32. That link looks like a SJAA page, but it's part
of Mike's pages--with instructions to contact Mike (personally)
about borrowing a scope.

Our officer's page still shows Bob Havner, Mojo, Jane Houston Jones,
and Dave North. Jim isn't an officer either (anymore), but at least
he's part of the staff. If we can't have all our *current* officers
and directors pictured, perhaps a group photo each year.

I haven't looked through our whole site with a fine-toothed comb,
but just found these things with a spot check.

Gary
