Using a combination of screwdrivers, drills, chisels, and finally my dremel,
I managed to get the mirror out of the scope.
It is an unusual shape. Thin along the edges and thicker in the middle. It
was originally held in place with clips, but now is held by the center plug
that pressure fits into the mirror cell. The mirror cell contains three
rubber feet that support the mirror. That is entire inadequate support.
What I thought was dirt now appears to be defects in the aluminizing. I
cleaned a section with Collodian for contrast

I recommend the scope be scrapped. The OTA was already ejected from my
garage after the third spider crawled out. It has a useable spider (the
other kind), focuser, and the new telrad. We could try to sell the finder.
It would be imposible to put the scope together again after what I had to do
to get at the mirror. Unless I hear some objections I will start stripping
it for parts.
