You would think so, but it doesn't work so easily in practice.  Whenever
something has come up here on the remailer, there are always some
people that for whatever reason just can't seem to participate.

And it's not just the SJAA.  I'm in another organization that occasionally
holds meetings like this.  Whenever a vote comes up (which is rare), some
people invariably have to be badgered into just casting a vote.  That gets
old pretty fast.

I suspect it's mostly psychological.  Sitting alone starring at writing on
a computer screen isn't like interacting with people in front of you.
