I don't get it.  Why would a scope of that "class" require both?  A 6" 
is an optical finder ;-)

Seriously, when I was a beginner I used nothing more than a Telrad on my 
10" Dob for several years.  Had a great time, learned the sky and how to 
star hop.

BTW... I wanted to check and see what scope #13 was, and found there's 
no link to the Loaner Program on the SJAA's main page (only "hidden" in 
the "benefits of membership").  Is that on purpose?  I  think it could 
be one of the more important links on the site.

Finally, another "arghhh" moment... I clicked on the "SJAA New Members 
Guide <http://www.sjaa.net/rh/New_Member_Guide.pdf>" link (looking for 
the loaner scope info), not realizing it is a PDF.  Can PDF links be 
labeled as such so people can be forewarned?
