Hi all,
????I was doing a little research on the Ultima 2000 and found?the model was made only for?about 2 years in 1998 and 1999 before being replaced by the Nexstar series in about 2000.?Last night we had a little clear weather, so I put it together and worked with it a little bit.? It was a little difficult because no owner's manual was included.? I did a quick 2 star alignment and I got the GOTO to work, so it looks like we have a functioning telescope.? I also discovered there was?another eyepiece in it when it was packed.? The new eyepiece will be inventory item? #32.
32.?? 1 1/4" ?Celestron 32mm Erfle- fair condition
???? Bye for now,
?????????????????? Lee

You need both a magnifying and 1x finders. For the obscenely heavy 1980's
vintage scopes like scope 8 the incremental weight of a Rigel was not
significant. Lighter weight scopes have closer tolerances.
As I said try the Telrad on the scopes on the two scopes you suggest. I
think they will be too heavy. If so we will purchase Rigels for them.
