Rich mostly expresses my sentiment as well.  

However, I believe a fast slew significantly helps a motorized scope's
usability. I would list at least as "highly desirable".  Even with my Meade
GPS I was frequently slewing especially during initial alignment.  

The Orion XT6 with DSCs we recently added does not have a motor and you can
move manually it as fast as you want.

We have a ton of Telrads so any scope where weight is not an issue can have
one.
