SJAA board meeting January 15, 2011

Meeting called to order 6:45 pm

Present:
Lee Hoglan
Rich Neuschaefer
Gordon Reade
Rod Norden
Robert Armstrong
Rob Jaworski
Mark Wagner
Greg Claytor

Absent excused:
Kevin Roberts

December 2010 board meeting minutes approved.
Treasurer report: expended $3350 in December 2010 on new astronomy 
equipment.
Need to confirm next month's speaker.
Gordon taking on bulk of beginning astro classes.  Rod can do one per 
quarter.
New and renewed memberships approved.
Loaner program is currently collecting old equipment.  New equipment is 
available.
Feb meeting will have a list of scopes to be offered for sale at April 
auction.
Lee to provide a list of astronomy equipment to Robert at February meeting.
Loaner program now has 7 new telescopes and accessories, purchased from 
Orion.
Mark will be absent from February board meeting.

Houge star parties:
Feb 11 - Mark
Feb 25 - Lee and Gordon
Mar 11 - Greg

Gregory award - board votes unanimously to offer the award to the nominee.
Gregory committee is now voted to officially be JVN and Bob Fingerhut.
Gordon will do beginning astronomy classes with topics discussed at 
board meeting.
Club will buy red pointer for speakers.
Messier Marathon decision at Feb board meeting.
Contact Jay Freeman as auctioneer.

Meeting adjourned at 7:52.
