Board Meeting May 29, 2010

Meeting called to order 6:50 pm

    * March and April minutes approved
    * Treasurer report - we are in a good position.
    * Income from auction is $1892, compared with $1050 in 2009.
    * Next meeting agenda item for investments for clubs funds
    * Beginning astro in May had 75 attendees
    * Jack Zeiders get together with Gordon and Rod
    * School star parties going well, but not many now due to end of school.
    * New memberships and renewals deferred to June for approval.
    * Loaners program running well.
    * Mark action item review scopes to contact Lee what has sold from
      loaners.
    * Publicity chair report.  SJAA has new banner.  Cambrian Festival a
      big success for SJAA.
    * Beginner class - star charts and software
    * Kevin Roberts - June 4th open/close pending his acceptance.
    * Rich Neuschaefer-  June 18th open/close pending his acceptance.


Auction postmortem - solicit more volunteers.
Mark - design a standard operating procedure for auction and swap meet - 
submit to board at August meeting.
New club logo  - incorporate into Ephemeris and web-page - get artwork 
from Rob?
Print Ephemeris - either make them available at the general meeting only 
(no postage),  or increase the dues by $10 for getting print Ephemeris 
mailed.  Keeping regular membership at $20.  These are proposals for 
June meeting.
June meeting - get more committee members.
Rob and Greg co-chair on swap meet.
Armstrong - Motion as a club to formally endorse the state parks 
initiative. Seconded - Gordon.  Motion passes with seven yes and one no.
Proposal for what to do with club funds.  Solar scope.  Continued to 
June meeting.  We need suggestions.
