Board Meeting 8/28/10

Meeting called to order 6:42 pm
July meeting minutes approved.
Membership staying even.
Loaners are coming back in.
Rich suggests a more strict protocol for loaning out telescopes.  
Protocol should prohibit messing with scopes, other than collimating 
Newtonians.  No cleaning, taking apart in any way.
Beginner class.  Rod has list of topics.
Rich opens and closes Sept 3.
Rich opens and closes Sept 17.
Oct 1 is constellation class -- fall constellations
Oct 1 Greg opens and closes.
Oct 15 Mark opens and closes.
Oct 29 Mark opens and closes.  Possibly Rich.
Beginner classes:
    Oct 1 -- Fall constellations
    Oct 29 -- What can you see in the sky part 1.
    November beginner class -  What can you see in the sky part 2.
Dave North for Feb/Mar moon class?
Banner and logo topic tabled to next month.  Ongoing discussions.  
Emphasize amateur telescope use.
Swap committee has handle on how to run event.  For Sept board meeting 
get list of loaner scopes to sell in swap.
Mark to be reimbursed for BlueHost.
Gary Mitchell awarded Contributing membership.
Board votes to use City award funds on loaner scope program.
Club will engage in online discussion regarding telescopes and 
accessories for loaner telescopes.
Houge Park use by SJAA extended by City to July 2015.
Agenda will be on wiki, linked to SJAA web-site.
